Destin, FL: Our Family Beach Adventure Recap

Michelle Joyner, her husband, and twins stayed at Dolphin’s Cottage, near crystal beach in Destin. Michelle recounts her favorite family moments and digs up serious scoops on treasures the Destin area offers. 

“The rental home we stayed in, known as Dolphin’s Cottage in Crystal Beach, is situated just a quick 0.3 mile (4-5 minute) walk from Crystal Beach in Destin. It was simply fabulous. We’ve stayed in Newman Dailey rental homes before during previous beach trips, but this house was by far our favorite one yet. As if the close proximity to the beach, grocery store, and several restaurants wasn’t enough, the house is also spacious. Dolphin’s Cottage is a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house with a full kitchen, huge dining table, dishwasher, washer/dryer, big backyard, and my kids 2 favorite parts: it has 2 bunk beds AND a private pool! This was great because our twins were able to both enjoy sleeping in the top coveted bunk AND they were able to swim (for nearly 3 hours!) each evening after our day’s adventures.”

Convenient Beach House For Families In Destin

Jessica and her family visited "Under the Sea," a lovely “three-bedroom house located conveniently off the main strip in Destin and a five minute walk to the beach.  Jessica is a connoisseur in all things Destin and loves to make a school break into a memorable vacation through exploration and experience.

“We have never stayed in this exact area and loved the convenience to everything in the city and the convenience to the beach. It was really perfect. The house had a spacious family and dining area, with bedrooms off to the wings of the house. One of our close family friends was also vacationing in Destin and they came over for dinner one night. They raved about the space!”

"If you are looking to vacation in Destin, I cannot rave about Newman-Daily enough. They go above and beyond, have so many nice properties and make your stay so easy. They also offer great free activities for people who stay. We took advantage of a dolphin boat ride and had the best time."

“Our kids play lots of sports but had never taken tennis. So when we found out that where we were staying, Hidden Dunes Beach and Tennis Resort, was a top-ranked tennis and pickleball resort, we knew we wanted to give it a try. We took a family lesson with Rhett Russell, Director of Racquet Sports and has been a tennis pro in the area for more than a decade. Rhett made it fun for my 7-year-old and 9-year-old and for the parents, too! We worked on some skills and drills, as well as competed in a few games that had us vs the tennis pro. Safe to say my kids want to keep working on their tennis skills!”
