More Non-Stop Direct Flights to Destin, Florida On Allegiant Air

With a desire to provide more direct access from cities around the U.S. to Destin, Florida, Allegiant Airlines will be adding direct flights from Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). Flights will begin May 24, 2025, and run Saturdays only through early September. Providing a low-cost option for travel to Destin’s soft white sand beaches, Allegiant is offering one-way fares starting at $59. These new routes are part of Allegiant's nationwide expansion, which includes 44 new nonstop routes. 

Allegiant is a low-cost airline that typically flies less than daily routes to leisure-focused destinations. In 2022, Allegiant partnered with Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport to open a dedicated concourse for serving Allegiant Air passengers. The five-gate, 26,000-square-foot Concourse C is located on the west side of the airport's main terminal serving exclusively Allegiant Air passengers.

In 2024, Allegiant Travel Company added seasonal nonstop service to 15 destinations from Destin- Fort Walton Beach Airport. These new seasonal Akron Ohio flights complement routes added last year from Destin -Fort Walton Beach Airport to:

• Peoria, Illinois via General Wayne a. Downing Peoria International Airport (PIA)
• Springfield / Branson, Missouri via Springfield-Branson regional airport (SGF)
• Memphis, Tennessee via Memphis International Airport (MEM)
• Omaha, Nebraska via Eppley Airfield (OMA)
• Tulsa, Oklahoma via Tulsa International Airport (TUL)
• Lexington, Kentucky via Blue Grass Airport (LEX)
• Evansville, Indiana via Evansville Regional Airport (EVV)
• Huntington, West Virginia via Huntington Tri-State Airport (HTS)
• Little Rock, Arkansas via Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT)
• Shreveport, Louisiana via Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV)
• Asheville, North Carolina via Asheville Regional Airport (AVL)
• Clarksburg / Morgantown, West Virginia via North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB)
• Des Moines, Iowa via Des Moines International Airport (DSM)
