Summer 2021 Real Estate Forecast for Destin, Florida

The Destin real estate market has continued strong momentum in the first quarter of 2021. With exponential growth in property values and sale prices in 2021, this trend is anticipated to continue through the summer months. The residential sales report for March 2021 revealed that sale prices for both single-family homes and condominiums in both Okaloosa and Walton Counties were higher than in 2020. While 2020 was off due to the COVID-19 shutdown, we have continued to watch the market grow month over month. With less inventory and rising demand, it is a sellers’ market. Sale prices are often at or above list price and the number of days a property is on the market continues to decline.

For investors who own property in Destin, Miramar Beach, and along Scenic Highway 30A, now is a great time to consider selling to earn a strong return on your investment. In Walton County, there are fewer new listings for condominiums and townhomes so this may be a sweet spot for those looking to sell a condominium in Miramar Beach or along Scenic Highway 30A. In Destin, there is a growing demand along with fewer listings for single-family homes so this is an opportunity for Destin homeowners who have considered selling.
