Change of Scenery
Not only is it more enjoyable doing school work with a view, the change of scenery can inspire creativity. Professor Kimberly Elsbach, who studies psychology at the University of California, found that people are more creative when they change their environments. While children are already more imaginative than adults, a new environment can really help stimulate their minds. After one summer vacation, 11-year-old Richie Stachowski asked ‘why can’t we speak to each other underwater?’ Richie went on to invent a non-electronic, underwater walkie-talkie, using $267 of his own money. While your student may not invent a new product, we predict their mind will be filled with new ideas after they school from the beach.
