Top 10 Things to Do on Your Day at the Beach in Destin

Everybody loves a good beach day but sometimes you want to be entertained while enjoying the area's soft, white sand beaches.  When our guests ask, what t one of these 10 beach activities on your next vacation. 

Read a Book or Magazine. 

Sometimes you just need to disconnect from your electronic devices, grab that book you’ve been wanting to read for so long but haven’t had time and just relax on the beach breathing in the fresh air and enjoying some me time.

Catch a Wave on a Boogie Board

Everybody loves a good ride. Grab a boogie board  and float while you play. 

Build Sandcastles

       Everyone loves a good sandcastle, so why not turn it into a family activity and see who can build the best or biggest one. Grab your buckets, shovels and sculpting tools and hit the beach, but don’t forget the camera to show your friends and family back home your awesome creation.

      Paddle Ball 

One our staff's favorite family games is paddle ball on the beach. Simply draw your lines in the sand for your court and you're ready to start volleying. Play two against two with the winner battling the next contender until their is a family winner. During sunset, toast the winner and celebrate a great day at the beach.  

       Mini Golf

Channel your inner Phil Mickelson and spend your day at the links, the sandy links that is. Bring your actual putter and golf balls or pick up a plastic set of clubs at your local store. You can set up a few items to use as targets to putt towards or dig some holes in the sand, just be sure to fill them in afterwards

Water Bucket Relay

Everyone loves a relay race, so grab some buckets or cups. When you say go, each participant must run to the water's edge, fill the vessel and then race back and forth to fill the bucket up on the beach. First one to fill their bucket completely wins.

Checkers  

Don’t worry about bringing a checker or chess board and all the pieces to the beach. Find a flat spot in the sand and draw your board. Don’t worry about having perfectly even squares, you’re on vacation. Find some shells in the sand or use beach toys as pieces. 

Beach Frisbee Golf

Make a frisbee golf course on the beach. Set up a few landing areas in the sand using towels, buckets etc. and grab your frisbee and get to golfing.
