Top Local Event in Grayton Beach - Rags to Riches Regatta

Are you looking for the best local event in Grayton Beach while on your 30A vacation? Well you’re in luck, Grayton Beer Company just announced their 23^rd annual “Rags 2 Riches Regatta” event. Rags 2 Riches Regatta will return to Grayton Beach on Saturday, June 29, 2019. This event was originally organized by the residents of Grayton Beach and Seagrove Beach to celebrate America’s Independence Day, that soon became into an annual tradition. 

This event benefits the South Walton Artificial Reef Association (SWARA). In the last couple years SWARA has been able to create 16 reefs (4 snorkeling reefs and 12 fishing and diving), 690 structures were deployed, and 86 species were recorded. Competitors, families and friends will gather at the access behind the Red Bar to watch two-manned teams navigate 16’ Hobie Cats in the race from Grayton Beach to Seagrove Beach. In addition to all this action taking place on the Gulf of Mexico, spectators can enjoy local craft beer from Grayton Beer Company, along with merchandise for sale and more. 

For those that wish to compete, event registration kicks-off at 8:00 a.m. at the Grayton Beach Public Access. The Captain’s meeting will be held around 11:00 a.m. which is then followed by the race.
