Things to Do in Destin & South Walton for Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend 2017 has arrived! And with it brings our extended family of guests to the beach. As we take time to honor the men and women who have served our country, there are a variety of events including live music in Destin and South Walton to make the Memorial Day Weekend special. 

Memorial Weekend Concert at HarborWalk Village. Live music all weekend long and Sunday fireworks over the Destin Harbor. On Saturday, May 27, The Good Looking perform from 7 – 9pm. On Sunday, May 28, Flash Flood performs from 4:30 – 6:30 pm and Departure (The Journey Tribute Band) performs from 7-9 pm with fireworks at 9 p.m.

Kadan Bart Rockett & Brookylan Kid Magicians will perform on Friday, May 26 at the Bart Rockett Theater at HarborWalk Village. After performing on NBC’s America ‘s Got Talent, Kadan Bart Rockett along with his Sister, Brooklyn Nicole Rockett, have perfected their show-stopping acts and will be performing  at the Rockett Theater located on the second level of Harborwalk Village. This limited engagement will feature 33 shows beginning Memorial Day weekend and running through the summer.

Live Music in the Village of Baytowne Wharf - The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin kicks off their Memorial Day festivities with three nights of family-friendly, free events. On Saturday, May 27th, 3HG, a blend of ‘80s pop, ‘70s funk and oldies, will take the stage from 7 pm.to  9pm. On Sunday, May 28th, Baytowne Wharf will host Coconut Radio will perform their signature Americana, Bluegrass and Blues tunes from 7-9 p.m. along with free children activities, including face painting with Abrakadoodle, balloon animals from the Fun Connection, and lawn games from 6-9 pm. At 9:15 pm, there will be a vibrant fireworks show to end the evening. 

Village of Baytowne Wharf Patriotic Tribute. On Monday, May 29, Baytowne will host a Memorial Day Ceremony beginning promptly at 7 pm in the Events Plaza. Guests may wish to bring a blanket or lawn chair. The ceremony will feature guest speaker Major Matthew Ward from the 96 Maintenance Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, as well as community members such as the Walton High School JROTC, Walton County Sheriff's Dept. Honor Guard, and members of the Ft. Walton Beach High School Viking Band. This special certemony will honor the men and women that lost their lives while serving our Country.

Sifonia Goes Pops Memorial Day Concert in Alys Beach. On Sunday, May 28, in Alys Beach along Highway 30A. Alys Beach will host the annual Snfonia Goes Pop Memorial Day Concert. Guests will enjoy the orchestral sounds of Sinfonia Gulf Coast under the palm trees in the Alys Beach Amphitheatre. Guests are invited to bring a blanket or low back chairs. Food and beverage available for purchase. Free and open to the public.
