Destin Charity Wine Auction Distributes $2.3 Million

The Emerald Coast is a tropical Florida vacation destination, yet our community is still faced with challenges, including hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence. Fortunately, there are organizations, such as the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, which raises awareness and funds for non-profit organizations serving children in need in Northwest Florida.

At Newman-Dailey, we are passionate about serving children in need. In fact, we dedicate countless hours to helping non-profit causes including DCWAF. Our CEO, Jeanne Dailey, serves on the DCWAF board of directors and is the chairman of the DCWAF marketing committee.

Named one of the top charity wine auctions in the country by Wine Spectator Magazine, DCWAF donated a record breaking $2.3 million to 14 Northwest Florida children’s charities this month! Celebrating its 10 year anniversary, DCWAF has now donated more than $10 million to non-profit organizations to serve children in Northwest Florida.

Listed below are the 2015 recipients of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation:
AMIkids Emerald Coast, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, Children in Crisis, Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Emerald Coast Autism Center, Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center, Food For Thought, Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, Okaloosa Walton Homeless Continuum of Care/Opportunity Inc., Pathways for Change, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), Shelter House of Northwest Florida, Youth Village, The Arc of the Emerald Coast and DCWAF Children’s Fund (a safety net to serve children in need in the event of an emergency).

These organizations do incredible work to ensure children receive every opportunity to become healthy, happy, educated adults.
Jeanne and the team at Newman-Dailey are proud to be an integral part of this organization. In fact, Jeanne Dailey was honored the 2015 DCWAF Board Member of the Year and Newman-Dailey’s Director of Marketing & Communications, Tracy Louthain, was named 2015 DCWAF Volunteer of the Year at the end of year celebration at Lulu’s in Destin.

In addition, Newman-Dailey teamed up with Food for Thought for its recent “Stock the Pantry” party, resulting in the staff banning together to donate more than 870 boxes of food and 3,000 food items to Food for Thought, which provides backpacks with wholesome meals for children facing food insecurity.

In 2013, Food For Thought was working out of a borrowed, 200 square foot closet with one employee, and serving 125 children each week. Thanks to DCWAF and others, Food for Thought has expanded to 15 school, serving nearly 1,200 students (grades K-12) each week, with a full time staff, dozens of volunteers and an expanded operations facility.

We invite you to learn more about Newman-Dailey’s charitable causes and small things you can do to improve the lives of children along the Emerald Coast when you visit the Destin area.
