Emerald Coast Poker Run & Boat Week, Aug. 18-23

There are always fun things to do along the Emerald Coast. After cheering on an amazing group of athletes who competed at Paddle at the Porch Stand Up Paddle Board races last weekend, we’re now turning our attention to boating. This week, Destin celebrates Boat Week and the Emerald Coast Poker Run, which we’re told is the largest summer poker run in the U.S.

Presented by the Florida Powerboat Club, the 23rd Annual Emerald Coast Poker Run will raise funds for several youth organizations. Last year, the event raised more than $150,000 dollars to help area youth.

Whether you own a boat or dream of owning a boat, there are plenty of ways to participate in this weeklong event.
Boat Week events and activities include Lucky Ladies Casino Night at Helen Back on Okaloosa Island, Miss Boat Week Bikini Contest at The Swamp, a fun run and Rock the Docks party at HarborWalk Village, a Captain's party at AJ's, and this signature event, The Emerald Coast Poker Run followed by the Poker Run Party.

The Poker Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. includes 10 stops between Sandestin and Pensacola Beach. Registered boats receive priority beachfront and reserved dock spots. After the run, guests are invited to attend the post-run party held at the Emerald Coast Conference Center, featuring a charity auction, live entertainment and delicious food. The weekend’s festivities conclude on Sunday with the raft up party at Crab Island.
